yes I did read your theories about Stonehenge but I was unable to get the animation to work.
As I understand it the barrows were burial sites for which I have my own theorie.
I was looking at stonehenge using google earth, I noticed that there are Barrows dotted all over the Salsbury plain and from a great height they look remarkably like the moons craters.
It occured to me that the chiefs, kings, may have wanted to be buried like their god-s, keeping in mind that the moon was closer to the earth 4,000+ years ago.
There is another phenomenon that may have occured at that time, bearing in mind that the Moon was closer to the Earth. Certain times of the month, the gravitational pull of the moon may have (and I state that with tounge in cheek) assisted with the lifting and moving of heavy weights. But I agree with you, winter time would have been the best time to move the stones, using dugouts on land as sledges, the snow could have been built up to afford a ramp, and marker poles placed before winter in order to precisely align the massive blocks in the snow.
It is a fact that the moons gravitational pull creates a great force on the earth, as it moved away the megaliths would become too heavy and so ended the period of megalith construction.
There is another unknown; we are aware that the earths magnetic poles reverse, is it possible that there may occur after such an event, a reduction in gravity lasting over generations?
Would giants be born over this period?
Okay sounds unlikely, but look at the size of the Dinosaurs.
