Hi JC Antunes, thanks, I don't agree with the Glacier theory, not because it's not possible but I believe that the blue stones could have been a gift from a separate tribe possibly as a marital Dowry. A dugout canoe was found with a bluestone nearby indicating that dugouts were used to transport the stones.
As far as using rolling logs under the stones. It might work if one had a lovely flat surface to roll them on, (concrete would be best). The answer is much simpler than that, although the reasons for building it in the first place are rather obscure, was it possibly a place of worship? A place for marriage? A place to make Kings? who knows? Perhaps all of the above just like our modern places of worship.
