Re: Archaeologists astonished at state support for bizarre project by Aluta on Friday, 07 July 2006

That may be true, or else it may be whining by archaeologists who are mad because he saw the pyramids before they did. I have mixed feelings about this one, because while I know that wild people do go off and do ill-advised and damaging things, I also know that orthodox archaeology is inclined to pout and deny that it's possible that others may have seen things they didn't--even when the evidence is looking them right in the face.

Some fantasists believe in things because they would like them to be true, but some archaeologists deny the existence of things because they are so confident in their omniscience that they think nothing can exist that they don't already know about. If you went by Ken Feder's criteria, we might still be saying those funny pointed mountains on Giza are natural phenomena.

In my experience, skeptics are as emotionally and irrationally invested in their skepticism as the believers are in their belief, and only time will tell who is right. The distrust on both sides here is probably warranted. I reserve judgement on what the truth is here. May the best man win!

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
