The night was spoilt by drunk partygoers by Anonymous on Thursday, 22 June 2006

I am mailing as last night i took my 14 year old daughter to
Stonehenge as it is Litha....a important Pagan Sabbath.

And as she is at the age of wanting to learn more about our hereditary
faith i thought Stonehenge....one of England's most Sacred sites would be
a fantastic introduction to go to.

Getting there was great.....The waiting system of parking on the road was
well organized....the Car Parking in the field was well organized....as was
the toilet systems. Everyone was in high spirits and the atmosphere in the
Carpark was amazing.

There where so many Foreigners who had come from the USA, Mexico,
Spain........Belgium...etc and they asked us to have our or photo's taken
with them countless times. They had read that The summer Solstice was a
very special time for Druids and pagans and many spiritual people and this
is why they had travelled to Stonehenge this night.

The stones opened at 10.00 p.m. and we had to walk the 1km to the stones
from the carpark and even that in its self was not a problem.

Even the one little gate for random searches was not a problem.

When we got to the stones....what a awful let down.

You expect to find some drunken people who have been in high
spirits.....What you do not expect to find is people standing on the stones
( the only time a steward would act)......People getting crushed within the
stones......Many party goers just shouting obscenity, screaming and
shouting.......

So many people where drunk...and to be honest............... you get better
behavior in a night club than you did there and you didn't feel safe at
Stonehenge. Not only that but after walking around the stone Circle on the
outside the amount of people doing drugs and the smell...the stewards where
just turning a blind eye. And there where many family's sitting around the
same area.

Not only that but we were asked several times if we had any drugs to sell
and also where asked by several people if we wanted to buy drugs.

Even when we got away from the stones and went to the heel stone my 14 year
old daughter had to witness men with there penis's out having a piss as
they couldn't be bothered to walk 5 minutes to the toilets...yet again the
stewards turned a blind eye.

So after moving from that area we went to the Gathering point with Brazier
which is the sacred Soap box.........All we got there was people totally
drunk talking to the stewards and every other word was sh*t,
f**k,sick,twat.

Again we moved from this section and on this point there where so many
drunken people on the floor that we walked into a ditch upon where i went
over on my ankle. (And spent the rest of the night at the A and E
department, then returned home.)

We decided to leave as we was appalled that one of ENGLANDS most sacred
sites could be treated in this way...no respect.....just a huge out door
party of drink, drugs and obscenity.

The thing is is that a lot of these people didn't even know what the
solstice meant.....to them this night was just another party with no
special meaning at all.

Now i know why many spiritual ( pagans, druids, shaman) people was not there
last night......

Its just shocking as you wouldn't have a party at Buckingham palace
grounds yet it is ok to desecrate one site that has been in England for a
long time.

We will never go back to Stonehenge for the Solstice again as it is not a
spiritual place to be....

King Arthur Pentadragon was there last night he claims he is The King of
ideals of truth, justice and the conservation of the planet for our
children and the children of our children.

After witnessing the spectacle last night i think he just likes getting
his name mentioned and photographed...there was nothing spiritual about
last night at Stonehenge at all.

What a shame people from other nations have to witness this loutish
behavior at this most amazing site....i will not forget their faces in a
long time.

Yours

Nicola
