Monte Serôdio is a dolmen or anta located in Lousal, Grândola, in the Setúbal district. This monument was built during the Neo-Chalcholithic period and has not yet been classified.
About the architecture
This megalithic monument consists of a chamber and a differentiated corridor. The burial chamber displays a plant in trapezoidal shape, with reasonable dimensions (3m x 3,30m), built with seven pillars. Six of them lie in situ and only the third is overturned towards the interior, with about 1.80 m average in height. The corridor is short relatively to the diameter of the chamber, with around 2.10 m long and 1.20 m wide. It is slightly away from the longitudinal axis of the chamber. The pillars have about 0.60m tall. The first two pillars are arranged to narrow the entrance as the first pillars of the chamber, forming on the corridor, a small visible atrium. There are no signs of the top cover, however nearby are several covers of similar size as the pillars that may have been part of the top cover. The analysis of the internal face of the monument pillars, allowed the identification of 25 dimples recorded in the pillar number five.

Aditional information:
- You are entering in private property but the access is possible.
- The entrance to the zone of the monuments may be blocked by fences, they were essentially made to demarcate the land and not allow the escape of livestock. Usually there are spaces in the fences within these demarcated areas where the access is possible. When entering in demarcated land never forget to close the access gate of the location, you need to be very aware because cattle can escape.
- Warning: Some of the fences may be ELECTRIFIED. Try not to touch them. There's a small wood door next to the monument that grants you access. Don't touch the fence.
- There are no signs prohibiting us from entering so the access can be open but be careful when you explore every time you see this red plaques that alert you for the Hunting Zones. Remind yourself that usually hunters can only hunt at selected hunting days (Thursdays, Sundays and on public holidays).
Note: Near by is also possible to visit the megalithic monument of Lousal and Lousal 2.
