aolson visited on 19th Jul 2020 - their rating: Cond: 4 Amb: 2 Access: 5 For being so large and so close to the road, this menhir is quite hard to find. What was once a nice grassy area is now fully overgrown with brushy trees that stand taller than the stone. If you know it is there and were to look, you can catch glimpses of it through the greenery.

oldman visited on 17th Sep 2019 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 3 Well it is almost impossible to find now. We drove around for ages looking for this menhir and when we did find it we couldn't see it. Access is impossible. Barbed wire surround it on all sides and inside this enclosure is a mass of trees bushes and undergrowth.

TheCaptain visited on 11th Jul 2005 - their rating: Cond: 4 Amb: 3 Access: 5 This menhir is easily found at Grand Breuil, right at the junction of the D.112 and the road for Lezonnais. The stone is about 3 metres tall, and in a little grassy area beside the road junction. It looks to have been nicely shaped, and is cared for to this day. There is a very nice garden on the opposite side of the road, all landscaped and with little megalithic creations in it.

Grand Breuil Menhir
Grand Breuil Menhir submitted by oldman : Site in Bretagne:Morbihan (56) France This is not a joke. It is the menhir at Grand Breuil as it is today. Most of these monuments in France are highly regarded but this one needs urgent work in removing the undergrowth, saplings and ivy before it is destroyed and lost. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Grand Breuil Menhir
Grand Breuil Menhir submitted by oldman : Site in Bretagne:Morbihan (56) France This image shows the base of the menhir. It is completely encased in ivy. How fortunate is it that you have earlier pictures showing the stone as it used to be.
