**Harford settlement** submitted by bec-zog : Harford Hut Circles. SX 577,717. NW of Weatherdon Hill Superb examples of ancient dwellings. There are numerous cairns,cysts, rows and circle within a few miles. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Remains of an ancient settlement on Harford moor, southern Dartmoor. Many hut circles are to be found, several of them in a very good state of preservation.

Easily found just a short walk southeast from the carpark at Harford Moor Gate.

Update October 2019: This settlement is featured on the Prehistoric Dartmoor Walks (PDW) website - see their entries for Harford Moor Settlement and The Neolithic tombs of Cuckoo Ball & Corringdon Ball.

This site is also recorded as Pastscape Monument No. 441259 (Hut circles near Harford Moor) and as MDV2849 (Hut circle settlement on Harford Moor) on the Devon and Dartmoor HER. It is also scheduled as Historic England List Entry No. 1013210 (Unenclosed stone hut circle settlement west of Butter Brook Reservoir).
