Highbanks Mound II
Highbanks Mound II submitted by bat400 : A mound within Columbus Ohio's Highbanks Metropark. This one is the more southernly of the two. Photo - bat400, 4 Nov 2007. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Artificial Mound in Franklin County, Ohio.
This small mound is only a few feet high and about 45 feet in diameter, but was much reduced by plowing when the park was still farmland. There has been no scientific excavation or dating. Given the mound’s location and general appearance it seems typical of the Adena type of earthwork.

The mound can be seen along a trail that starts across the park entrance road from the Highbanks Metropark Nature Center. The “Dripping Rock Trail” may be hiked during daylight hours when the park is open. The Highbanks Metropark entrance is off Ohio State Road 23.
