Menires de Milrei e do Padrão
Menires de Milrei e do Padrão submitted by paulcall : This menhir is the only one in the area of south-western Portugal which is, to my knowledge, upright, having been re-erected. It is also known as Menir de Padrao This stone is found south of Raposeira, by heading out of the village and turning right onto the first road, and driving about 500m. A wonderfully shaped smooth menhir about 2 metres tall which is marked faintly with phallic symbolism. It has been re-erected, but cracking can be seen from the time it was originally pushed over in the middle ages. It is now concreted in situ. The line running across the stone about 40cm from the top is presumeably the phallic marking but it is very difficult to see, and even harder to photograph.

This menhir is the only one in the area of south-western Portugal which is upright, having been re-erected. Distrito de Faro, Raposeira.

This is on the west side of the road near a house. Only about 4 metres from the carriageway. It is around 2 metres high and looks like a giant incisor tooth. Follow the road down from the brown Monumentos Megalithica sign towards the coast for about 200 metres and this is on the right-hand side of the road.
