Hekese Grab B
Hekese Grab B submitted by RunaStera : Hunebed #883 - Hekese Grave B - the inner wisth of the chamber is 19m x max. 3.5m. Special to this grave is, that it is linked by a 53m long stone-row (alignement) to Hekese Grave A (#884). (Vote or comment on this photo)
Chambered Tomb in Lower Saxony, Bremen

Just north of Restruper Strasse, close to Restrup. The site is highly unique in that it is about 100 meters long and consists of two chambered tombs connected by 2 53 Meter long parallel stone rows orientated NNW-SSE. The chambered tombs respectively measure 20 Meters by 3 Meters and 19 Meters by 3.5 Meters and date to about 2500 BCE. The Northernmost tomb is in the best condition and still has most of the cap stones in place.

Hekese Grab B
Hekese Grab B submitted by Martin_L : The massive 9 capstone chamber viewed from the North-West. Length is 21m, the width varies from 4m to 5m. Only one out of twenty-one orthostats is missing. Seven out of nine capstones [1] are preserved, but due to historic destruction attempts (including the removal of all smaller stones and the complete drywalling) the chamber largely collapsed. Only capstone C7 still is resting on its orthostats... (Vote or comment on this photo)

Hekese Grab B
Hekese Grab B submitted by Martin_L : Inside the chamber below slightly moved capstone C7. View North. Fallen capstone C6 at pictures' centre. Although the structure is heavily disturbed by historic destruction attempts it is an outstanding site. May 2010 (Vote or comment on this photo)

Hekese Grab B
Hekese Grab B submitted by Martin_L : No quarries in this areas. The funnel-beaker people only had glacial granite erratics to built the chambers. The flat sides of the erratics usually face towards the inside of the chambers as visible at the two south-eastern orthostats visible in this picture. Background showing capstone C7, the only capstone that is not fallen, but it also is not in situ anymore. May 2010 (Vote or comment on this photo)

Hekese Grab B submitted by Martin_L : As a result of historic destruction attempts the central capstone (approx. 4,5m x 3m) is broken. View SE. May 2010

Hekese Grab B
Hekese Grab B submitted by Martin_L : Detail of the northern chamber at Hekese. The chambers are gigantic. Sadly all drywalling and the earthwork are removed. This probably caused most capstones to collapse into the chamber. Still very impressive sites. May 2022
