Promontory Fort / Cliff Castle in Rhineland-Palatinate
The promonotory fort is located on a small hill near the graveyard of the village Alsdorf. It consists of a rampart and a ditch, both heavily eroded. It is believed that the fortification dates back to prehistoric times and that it is related to iron smelting activities in the nearby Heller Valley and Daaden Valley during the Latene Period of the Iron Age.
