The group of three barrows is situated in a small forest called Vorster Busch on a terrace above the river Wupper. It’s quite difficult to locate them in the terrain, particularly because of the dense vegetation. They haven’t been excavated so it’s uncertain how old they are, but there are many other barrows along the ancient trackway called Mauspfad („mouse path“) which can be dated to the Hallstatt Period of the Iron Age.
In the northeast next to the barrows lies a rectangular enclosure, measuring about 100 x 50-60 meters, which overlooks the nearby stream. It consists of a small rampart with a shallow ditch in front of it. The age of the structure is also unknown.
