Polishing Stones in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium which show deep marks of intense use.
The Polissoirs de Saint-Mard lay side by side along a small stream, the Ruisseau des Brûzelles (other spellings exist, but not many people know about this stream anyway, which is about 25 cm wide all told by dry weather).
A third stone, nearby, does not seem to have been used as a polishing stone.
Access: by car up to (49.5468, 5.5571), which is on a no longer maintained asphalted one-lane road now used as field road, and which goes on further into the forest.
Then walk 400 m across fields ; be prepared to "negotiate" one barbed-wire fence. The Polishing Stones are just on the left bank of the tree-lined stream and bang under the HV 110 kV line (see photo underneath).
Also note the trough, either a rock-cut basin or a natural occurrence.
