Dun or Broch in Isle of Tiree

Remains of an Iron age dun or a ground-galleried broch. In early 20th century remains of a ground gallery were still visible, now only it's short sector is visible on NW arc of the construction. Preserved walls are standing up to 1 m of height. There are traces of defensive outworks around the dun.

Access is a short walk from West Hyanish. Dun Hiader is steep sided with little of the original walls intact. It feels more like a fort than a Broch due to the many scattered stones.
