This carving site consists of 6 large carvings of elks. Three of the elk carvings seem to be almost complete, while the other three have lost some parts to erosion. Some of the elks are also overlapping each other.
The carving style seems to be the same as in the Bøla site. They have deeply cut grooves and have recently been painted in red, making them very easy to see.
The carvings have been dated to the last part of the early stone age, or the start of younger stone age, about 2000-4000BC. They are good examples of the almost life-size animal carvings known from this period.
The carvings are located on an almost vertical cliff side overlooking the Trondheimsfjord. A sign by the highway shows the path down to the site.
A larger rock with carvings was found some kilometres away from this site, this rock has been moved to the Trondheim museum.
