Stone Circle in Romania

Large 30 Meter stone Circle at Dacian Hillfort in Romania.
The 2 inner circles are wood. Traces of the original roten posts where found and replaced. There is no information as to how tall the posts would have been. There is some speculation that the circle might have had a roof as traces of unbaked clay tiles which would not have survived exposure to the elements.
The outside stone circle was largely broken to the lowest level by the romans. The inner stone circle consists of exactly 180 stones, with alternating 6 small stones and 1 large one.
The second stone circle has a diameter of 13 meters.
The romans were usually quite tolerant of conquered people's gods, as they were just assumed to be the same as theirs with a different name. The Romans just had a major problem with human sacrifice. 990 Meters Altitude GPS Position from handheld device. Unesco World Heritage site

The entire complex seems to exhibit several cardinal and solstice alignments. The Andesite Sun points north. From its center one can see the winter solstice sunrise through the center of the great circle sanctuary. Similarly, the sunrise during the summer solstice can be seen through the center of the small circle sanctuary.
