Two menirs have been relocated from the small town of Porches (just east of Lagoa) and placed in the front garden of the Sao Jose Convent on Rua Joaquim Eugenio Judice in Lagoa. The largest is around 2 metres tall while the other is about half this size. They are only about 3 metres from the road.
The convent which was built in 1713 has been changed to a cultural centre and includes a small museum. Entry is free. The staff are friendly and photography is permitted.
