The pictographs are possibly exact replicas of the originals which some say are located in a remote location undisclosed for their protection. The original site was closed in 1996. The snake pictograph symbolizes the guardian of the settlement which a friend from Sri Lanka told me is very similar with their beliefs in cobras as sacred guardians of important places.
