Sculptured Stone in Honshū

Excavated from Ishigami-iseki (石神遺跡 34.480364, 135.818288) in 1903. A 1.7m statue of a man and a woman holding him on his back. Totally different from the style of the Buddhist images, most significant feature is that a hole penetrates the statue and water will spout from the mouths of the man (cracked) and the woman.
A replica is placed in the garden of the Asuka Shiryōkan Museum and the artifact itself is exhibited inside the museum.
