Ginowan family started from a son of 19th (last) King of Second Shō Dynasty of Ryūkyū Kingdom in mid 19th C and governed present Ginowan city.
This giant turtleback tomb was originally built for another royal family in 1738 and sold to Ginowan family in lare 19th C. The gentle curve of the façade is peculiar to early turtleback tombs. It lies in the dense bush on a hill in Sueyoshi park (末吉公園). The paved approach in gloomy bush is crooked and long.
