The decorative possibilities for bulbs in your garden are very wide. Spring-blooming flowers will be the first to decorate your garden. At the time when nature is just waking up from winter, they are especially appreciated for their early flowering. If you plan to plant bulbous flowers near the house, let’s take a look at some of the possible places for them.

Five Places to Plant Bulbs in Your Garden
Spring-flowering bulbs look best when planted in clusters, so they create a solid carpet of flowers. This makes spring flowers especially impressive. As soon as you choose spring flowering bulbs, it is time to consider the best place for them. Here are our five suggestions:

1) Under the trees

Tree trunks are often left unattended due to competition for nutrients and dense shade from the crown of the tree. Bulbous flowers are an excellent solution for this area. They will decorate the garden when it has not yet filled with colour, and then they will retire. This is truly an excellent coexistence format.

2) On the lawn

Open spaces are ideal locations for bulbs. Spring blooms on the lawn look charming, but when planting bulbs there, you need to take into account several nuances:
Small bulbs should be chosen for a lawn, which do not require frequent digging. So, the plants will grow on their own for several years.
Only species with early flowering are suitable for the lawn. The reason is that the leaves from these bulb flowers must be preserved until they naturally wilt. If you place tulips on your lawn, you can mow it only in June.
Besides, you need to monitor the depth of the fertile layer. On a lawn, it is usually small, and bulbs require good nutrition.

3) Under the curb

Due to their large flowering, bulbous plants under curbs can be very beautiful. Loose twisting lines will beautifully shape your lawn. In this case, the problem of moxing is solved thanks to the limited landing place. With straight structural lines, bulbous flowers will perfectly decorate the paths.

4) In the flower bed

This place is also very advantageous: it allows the creation of continuously flowering groups with a long period of blooming. Spring-flowering plants will be blooming when the rest of your flower garden still looks rather "poor”. When these flowers will lose their decorative effect, other plants will replace them. Place bulbs between the loose roots of large plants or near species with shallow root systems to avoid competition for nutrition.

5) In a pot

Another spectacular way to use bulbs in the garden is by placing them in pots. This technique creates the advantage of the mass and brightness of spring-flowering: you can place pots in the corners of the garden, filling it with flowers.

I hope these were some helpful ideas - with many thanks to CazzyJane and KiwiBetsy for their kind support with this article, including their lovely photos.
