Having healthy skin and a toned body is something that everyone dreams of. But with a busy lifestyle and a stressful environment sometimes it is hard to follow through with. Here are some ideas and suggestions to work towards healthy skin and a toned body:

Protect yourself from sun damage

Going out in the sun without sunscreen can cause blemishes, wrinkles and spots as you age so try to limit your sun exposure and always wear sunscreen with the highest SPF. Remember to re-apply your sunscreen every 2 hours and seek shade when possible. Wear protective clothing like hats, long sleeved T-shirts and trousers when going out in the sun.

Don't smoke

Pretty obvious for good health, but smoking can make your skin look older than it actually is because it narrows the blood vessels in the outermost layers of your skin which decreases blood flow and makes the skin paler.
Smoking also damages collagen and elastin which basically is responsible for the elasticity of your skin. If you feel your skin lacks elasticity, you should try collagen powder to revive your skin. Smoking can also increase the risk of squamous cell skin cancer. You should try to reduce or quit smoking completely.

Treat your skin kindly

Be careful about the cosmetics you apply on your skin and stay away from harsh removal methods. Try to make sure the products that you are using are natural and don't contain parabens. Don't use exfoliating products that strip your skin of essential oils.
Avoid products that have any sort of fragrance in it as they can irritate your sensitive skin.
Moisturize your skin daily to keep it hydrated and try to stick to your skin care regime.

Eat a healthy diet

This is important not only for having good skin but of course you need to eat well, and not too much to help with getting toned. Whatever you eat gets reflected on your skin so try to avoid extremely spicy, oily and unhealthy food. Include more vegetables and fibre in your diet so that your body can naturally get rid of toxins. Stay away from crash diets or any cleanses that claim to detox your body. Make sure that you combine a healthy mix of every food group and cut down on processed carbs. You can take sugar-free products to make your skin glow more, click for more to have healthy chocolates in your diet plan.

Strength training

Not only does lifting weights help you achieve a toned body but it can also give you fresh and young looking skin. While exercising try not to wear any makeup or products that can clog your skin. You may need to take supplements like Isopure during your training to ensure you’re getting enough protein to build muscle. Muscle is of course what will make your body look toned. Make strength training a part of your lifestyle and not something that you do to achieve short term goals.

Manage stress

A lot of stress can make your skin look dull and make it difficult for you to lose weight. Try to get a good night's sleep and have strategies in place to manage everyday stress. You could to incorporate exercise meditation or yoga to deal with your busy lifestyle.

We hope these ideas will help to motivate you to a healthier lifestyle. With many thanks to Marco Verch for the above Creative Commons image.
