I added this picture to show how "thin" the stone is.

If you come up from Cellardyke to the main road turn right for Kilrenny, at the fork turn left and park on the left at the large barn. Walk through the yard and bear left to a grassy lane, after 150mtrs you will come to the Sheith Stone. After you have spent some time with the stone go back to Anstruther for a wonderful fish supper on the harbour.

The striations are on the north side.

If you're coming from Anstruther on foot, it isn't necessary to go all the way into Cellardyke to reach this stone. A path for dog walkers leaves the main road between a housing development to the left (south) and a potato field to the right. After maybe 200 meters, you can turn right on another path between the potato field and another field to the left, and this leads directly to the stone.
