From Forfar head easton the A932 Friockeim road. Turn north onto the un-numbered Aberlemno road by Balgavies Loch, until a small crossroads is reached. Just north of this junction you will see the stone in a field on your left (west side of the road.) This is an unassuming stone, no marks, standing about 1.2m high. Flat-faced, with the faces approximately due south-east/north-west.
This standing stone is recorded as Canmore ID 34906, which has brief entry from 1978 which reads: "This stone stands in an arable field on the W side of the road at Westerton and measures 1.4m high and 1m broad. On its SW face there are the remains of an incised human figure about 0.9m high, and on the top of the stone there are five cup-marks."
The Northern Antiquarian (TNA) also features a page for this stone - see their entry for Westerton, Aberlemno, Angus, which gives directions for finding this stone, together with photographs, a sketch of a damaged carving, descriptions taken from historical sources and a brief archaeology & history.
