Re: Pitcrocknie by Anonymous on Saturday, 16 May 2026
I have recently noticed that the standing stone has been at least half covered by backfill from obviously the housing development...this is a disgrace . I remember the stone being prominent, and now it's surrounded by a housing development. Shocking how greedy developers have no sense of history for the area

The developers of the housing estate have completely ruined this ancient site. The stone used to sit in a beautiful setting on a flat green space. The developers have used the surrounding area around the stone as a dumping ground for waste earth and stones and the ancient standing stone sits in a gully and completely out of place. We used to stand next to the stone and fell the history, that is now all lost. Can anyone help restore the site.

Absolutely disgraceful...it's lucky if it's half the size it was . The developers are just greedy money makers
