Extra Info:
My interests have always been in mountain and fell locations.I was brought up in Co Durham and after Grammar School I studied geography at college in Matlock.I chose the Peak District so I could rock climb and also mountaineering with a bit of pot holing thrown in. In 1971 my husband and I moved to the Lake District for work and to explore the mountains. My teaching commitments allowed me to develop as an art teacher and later I specialised as a textile artist as a hobby.I belong to a group of women textile artists and we exhibit in Cumbria and North Lancashire. I've always been intrigued by stone circles but now since seeing the Copt How carvings in Langdale my friend and I are really hooked on looking for ancient stone structures. This combines really well with our walking with our dogs, my art work and generally trying to "Read the Landscape" for past activity. Obsessional or what! My Rhodesian Ridgeback bitch Alpha is of course an Alphaeologist now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
