A fragment of an Anglo-Saxon cross in All Saints Church, Ilkley. This was discovered in 1868 buried beneath a cottage close by. On one side a figure with his hands raised in attitude of prayer. The other side has interlacing and a odd looking animal at the bottom.

i popped into the church this afternoon and couldnt find this piece of cross ;-(
no one at the museum knew about its whereabouts either

I'm not sure where it could be. I will try to find out. Maybe bad information again.

I think the cross fragment is in private ownership somewhere close to the church, but I don't know just where.
