Description
The church was founded by the Welsh Saint Paul Aurelian in 490.
Paul had left Wales when King Mark of Cornwall asked him to teach the people of Cornwall about Christ. From Cornwall he travelled to Brittany where he became Bishop of Leon.
The present church dates from 1600, being rebuilt after a Spanish attack.
The wheel headed cross on the churchyard wall dates from the 9th or 10th century and is carved on both sides.
The southwest face bears the figure of Christ.
