Description
The ring of white quartz stones outlining the destroyed cairn. Burl says in 'Circles of Stone':
"Eighty yards to the south and 50 feet lower down the slope are the cleared remains of a cairn from which much white quartz was recovered."
I came across this by accident while dowsing a ritual movement route from Moel ty Uchaf to a nearby pile of stones, looking uncannily like a cairn or collapsed tomb. It was the final destination of the movement that day. It is possible that they were stones taken from here, but why move them from the slope to the level?
(Unless someone had tried to start making a path??)

This is Burl's 'cairn' remains, where the material for those piles of stone could have been sourced. These white quartz stones are in its SW arc. The brown earthy/dry-veg patch is centre of area. Moel ty Uchaf is on top of the ridge, above.
