Gorgeous. Do you think the colours would have been as deep then?

Probably deeper Angie, because people walk up to the litte cave at the top it's making the colours less where people's feet scratch the surface, The little white dots you can just see in the dark little cave at the top are two t-lights, someone must have crawled in and put them there! I love a t-light but as soon as you leave it, it's litter!

I didn't realise you could climb over it. Not a good idea to leave t-lights and their metal base will rust here.

I'd have normally got them, but it just didn't feel right climbing up to the little cave where they were, It seems that nowadays every sacred spring or well has them (used and unused), clearly us moderns think the spirits need help with the dark! i think it might just be us stumbling around in the dark, as we seem to want to light everything up, As you know darkness is good for opening up the other senses more, therefore real darkness would have probably been the most important thing at these types of sites (like at the fogou's and chambered cairns as well)
