One thing I wanted to see was the Roman temple ruin, I got all the way round and hadn't found it so I went a looking, having not much idea what I was looking for I thought this was it, even though I had a faint recollection of there being stone work. Hi, Postman. Lovely collection of photos of Maiden Castle - thanks for submitting these. I really felt like I'd walked round it myself! My husband and I visited here way back in 2006/7, before I knew about the Portal, and before I had a digital camera. We did find the temple, which my husband was very interesting in seeing (and yes, there was stonework foundations showing at the time). I don't know if you will find it useful but there is a very comprehensive Excavation Report from 1985/1986 which can be downloaded from ADS: English Heritage Excavation Report (click on 'pdf' in the bottom box to download). There are some plans which start around page 58, which might help identify this structure?
