Description
It's a Grind
This is a photo of an Indian grinding rock that the native Maidu indians used to grind acorns into flour. It is in Roseville, smack dab in the middle of the urban jungle. The picture isn't great because I took it through a wrought-iron fence that surrounds it to protect it. How'd I ever find this? Geocaching, there is an Earthcache that explains the history and geological features of this rock. I said it before, I'll say it again, its what I just love about caching, I would have never known about this piece of history if the game hadn't brought me here.
There are actually a few pestels left in the rocks.
