Description
Two of My Favorite Things
Site in Tanzania
Rock art and a big cat in one photo! The lions (Panthera leo) like to hang out atop Moru Kopje. The rock is known as "Gong Rock" to the Maasai tribe. Since prehistory, they have been throwing smaller rocks at it to send sounds. A musical instrument! Taken in the Central Serengeti, Tanzania, Africa. The African lion is listed as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species at iucnredlist.org.
