Description
Storage units, Temple of Viracocha.
Just to the west of the main temple complex, there is a huge complex of 200 identical circular buildings, arranged back to back in rows of 10. Each building had a narrow opening into a space some 20 feet across, the walls rising as high as 10 feet.
These circular buildings are said to definitely pre-date the Incas by some centuries, probably being originally constructed by the Tiwanaku or Wari cultures before being used by the Incas for storage.
