22 Cone Shell beads dated to approximately 32,000 years before present.  Found at Mandu Creek Rock Shelter, Exmouth, Western Australia, they represent the earliest example of human adornment yet found in Australia. Signs of abrasion from string rubbing on the shells indicate that they were worn by someone.  The shells are of a non edible shellfish.  June 2013.
