A few years ago I read that a human jaw bone with teeth found at Kent's Cavern was being re-dated and may precede the Paviland 'Lady' by a few thousand years. The Paviland body has been cited for years as the earliest modern human found in Europe.
Last week, on Blaze of all channels (that channel of the weird and wonderful c**p eg von Daniken is a space god) on a programme called Weird Britain, a member of the museum staff at Kent's Cavern said that this was now dated to 40,000 years ago .
Generally I keep an out for things historical, but this seems to have passed me by. Quite amazing that one of the most historically important discoveries in the history of Britain was not trumpeted loud and clear on British news.

Hi, if it's true I find it surprising too.
