A carved diorite stone ball with six projecting disks found at St Fort sand and gravel quarry, Wormit, Fife.  Some 425 of these carved stone balls have been found in Scotland and are tentatively dated to the Early Bronze Age around 3500 to 5500 years ago.  Their use is enigmatic.  Similar stones have been found in other parts of the British Isles.  September 2012.
