Description
From the South: Perfectly preserved passage-grave with 4 chamber-capstones and one passage-capstone situated in moorland west of the village Wittstedt.
Chamber size is appr. 6,5m x 2m. Clear size will probably be appr. 5m x 1,5m.
According to Sprockhoff (Sprockhoff et al., Atlas der Megalithgräber Deutschlands, Teil 3, p. 7) it was discovered comparatively late (around 1910). It was very overgrown by moorland then, so chamber type was hard to determine. Nevertheless Sprockhoff identified 4 stones as capstones during his examination in 1927. Nowadays the tops of nearly all uprights and many other construction details are visible, although the chamber is still rather deep in the moorland.
