before this site was identified - it was the local footbal teams rain shelter! ( the pitch is adjacent)

What a fantastic location for a game of footy! There was a lot of re-seeding going on when we visited last summer, I had to be very careful making my way down to the cairn, not to stand on the seedling grass. The views over the island to Jura are quite breath-taking. I love Islay, and can't wait to go back one day.
