The Stones of Stenness, Skara Brae.

A view of the two small upright stones and one large flat stone at the centre of the circle - which may have been a cist, though some historians believe it to have been a hearth.

The date of construction is put at 3,000 years ago.

Is this a slide scan? It has those vivid Kodachrome 1970s style colours. Excellent, very trendy retro these days!

No it isn't Andy, but i know what you mean. I remember the 70s very well and those kodachrome photos. I think Paul Simon had a song called 'Kodacrome' did he not. Cheers.

You give us those nice bright colors
You give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, oh yeah!

A very nice poetic comment. If only the world was like a sunny day, sunny days every day even, but there are always clouds waiting to bring more rain - in this country any way. Thanks for that bat400. Cheers.

Just to go back to your comment about kodachrome Andy, singer Paul Simon sang about Kodachrome in 1973/4. The track was on his album 'There goes Rhyming Simon'. I presume kodachrome was the first type of colour photography.

i dont know for sure whicch was the first type of colour photography but i do know for sure that agfchrome was about long before kodachrome
