Description
Illustration of the Carew Cross (back view) standing at 14 feet high making it the tallest cross in Wales. Dating from the 11th century and commemorating Maredydd, king of Dheubarth, who was killed in battle (1035) by Cynan ab Seisyllt who had invaded SW Wales.
