Approximate location of the Vix Tumulus III under the Mont Lassois. This dates from about 500 BCE. The site was investigated from the late 19th century CE onwards. There are now no traces of the sanctuary and tumuli, except via aerial photography due to continued intense farming. The kerb stones may still be underground.
