The Hillfort in Cote D'or Bourgogne was inhabited from the Bronze Age and apparantly vacated around 400 BCE. It was again inhabited from about 200 BCE until the arrival of the Romans when the population transferred once and for all to Chatillon-sur-Seine. The tribe living there are thought to have been reponsible for the lavish tumuli in the foothills, though these are now largely plowed over.
