Description
The excavated round barrow at High Lea Farm, part of Bournemouth University's "Knowlton Prehistoric Landscape Project'. Seen from the spoil heap on the open day (Sunday 29 June 2008). The site was being prepared for mast-cam photographs two days later.
This is a composite image from two photographs.

Good pictures Jim. But seeing this has made me think. Were they making giant sand castles ? Or is the act of making sandcastles some inbuilt ancient urge....

Show me the almighty bucket that they used to build this sandcastle...!

The upturned bucket of sand is only for decoration on the top. The main mound has no need of a bucket... And this can be a modern improvement, after the technology has improved.

There were plenty of orange B&Q buckets (just one pound, as I recall) at this dig. I don't know if its been backfilled yet, but if not this ditch might make a nice moat with all the rain we've had.

Hi Jim, nice pictures, its Aerial-Cam by the way though. Cheers.
