The Mausoleum for the Great Turkish Leader and reformer Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was built on top of a Galician Tumuli between 1942 and 1953. Rescue excavations were carrıed out before buıldıng started. The artifacts are now ın the museum. There are a few more Tumuli ın an other part of the cıty.
