Returning to the circle from the west, following a short walk around the moor in the hope that a gap in the clouds would open up and offer better conditions for photography. This is a composite of two photographs, one exposed for the heavy sky and one for the stones below. I'm not too pleased with the outcome as it doesn't represent the scene as I saw it, but maybe with a little more technical ski

Description
Returning to the circle from the west, following a short walk around the moor in the hope that a gap in the clouds would open up and offer better conditions for photography. This is a composite of two photographs, one exposed for the heavy sky and one for the stones below. I'm not too pleased with the outcome as it doesn't represent the scene as I saw it, but maybe with a little more technical skill the results would be better. The stones are on a fairly flat moorland shelf so there are no nearby high-points to try and take a photo overlooking the entire circle. The windswept thorn tree at Clitter Cairn (to the west) is just visible on the skyline.

This looks good to me Jim, but then I wasn't there to see what you saw.

It was very dark. I shook my fist at the sky, then we returned to the trusty vehicle to continue on our homeward journey.
