The ridge known as Ysgyryd Fawr (or Skirrid Mountain in English) overlooks Abergavenny.  It has a defended enclosure and ancient chapel at its northern tip. 
The walk along the ridge giving wonderful views to the eastern end of the Brecon Beacons and even across the Bristol Channel.
