Gobustan - Bullaun with Staircase and two channels

Gobustan - Bullaun with Staircase and two channels Gobustan Archaeological Reserve. This twin channelled bullaun is unique in having a miniature staircase that leads down to a platform within the water collecting trough. Its function is unknown but likely to be spiritual in intent. Like other channelled bullauns in Azerbaijan these orient to the north and south east and demonstrate ancient knowledge of astronomy. Nearby there is a petroglyph or a deer.
