A grotto and stone circle within the University of Reading’s Whiteknights campus. Installed by George Spencer-Churchill (1766-1840), 5th Duke of Marlborough. The sarsen stones were shipped from Clatford Bottom near Avebury, taken from drifts favoured by Neolithic people.
