Earthworks at the northeastern corner of the hourglass-shaped hillfort on Beacon Hill. The eroded path over the outer rampart shows where most modern-day visitors access the fort's interior, coming up from the car park next to the A34 road in the valley below. The fort's original entrance is at the southeast corner where Beacon Hill slopes away much more gently along a  long ridge.
